Of mice and Muslims: EEOC sues UPS for bias ? Business ...

The EEOC is suing UPS for race and religious discrimination and retaliation, alleging a Muslim of Jordanian descent working at the company?s San Bruno hub was subjected to physical and verbal harassment, including being called ?Dr. Bomb,? ?al-Qaida? and ?Taliban.?

The employee claims a supervisor told him he could not work with hazardous materials because he was ?a terrorist? and was going to ?blow up the building.? He says he was assaulted with rocks, bottles and tools and that a dead mouse was placed in his lunch sack.

Despite repeatedly reporting the harassment to UPS management, he claims, the company didn?t do anything to stop it. In fact, the lawsuit alleges, he was involuntarily transferred after he complained and then micromanaged.
